Yesterday, a friend emailed a link to another Flash Mob. As I watched it, I was struck by how we, as people, yearn to be part of history and “the greater good.” The seemingly impromptu performance in a Flash Mob is anything but spontaneous. It requires a cast of hundreds, scripting, cinematography, performers, lighting and sound, rehearsals…and yet, for a few magical minutes those participating in the sole performance of a Flash Mob are delighted, entranced, wooed by the illusion that humans can, seemingly out of nowhere, come together with joy. The expressions on the gathering crowd is as much a part of the performance as the individual willing to haul an instrument onto a public street and begin with the first opening note.
This Flash Mob of Sabadell is worth the watch.
